Our Living History Experience has an American Indian focus all three days of our Opening Weekend; however, the Powwow is a one-day only special engagement. This event includes:

  • Grand Entry at 11:30am
  • The American Indian Veterans of Colorado Color Guard
  • Host Northern Drum – Mile High Drum
  • Host Southern Drum – Cozad Jr’s. Drum
  • Powwow Contest in multiple Categories for Golden Age, Men’s, Women’s, Teens, Juniors, and Tiny Tots
  • Several Dance Categories including Traditional, Fancy, Grass, Shawl & Jingle
  • 2017 American Indian Veteran Honoring Ceremony in Recognition of Armed Forces Day
  • Three Award Winning & People’s Choice Indian Artists
  • Remembering The Brave – Native American Hall of Heroes Memorial Panels
  • HawkQuest – Live Birds of Prey
