Bent’s Fort: A Crossroads
Bent’s Fort: A Crossroads is an engaging 2-hour student program that explores the history of Bent’s Old Fort and early Colorado. Led by Educators dressed in historical attire, opportunities abound to learn about trade economics, daily life at Bent’s Fort, and the cultural diversity of the Bent’s Fort region in the early 19th century. Whether it be handling historical objects, examining primary sources, touring The Fort, or participating in hands-on activities, students will think critically, make connections between the past, present, and future, and create interactive minds-on learning experiences that they are sure to remember. This program meets Colorado Academic Standards in Social Studies for Grades 3-8, and can be modified for high school students as well. This program can be booked for school groups with 25 to 75 students on weekdays throughout the year. Traveling Trunk Show
Taking the best of our onsite school program on the road, Tesoro now offers a Traveling Trunk Show program that comes to your classroom! This 1-hour program brings the history of the Fur Trade and Bent’s Fort alive through hands-on activities, historical objects, and an emphasis on primary source documents. The cost is $100 per 1-hour program and the program meets Colorado Academic Requirements in Social Studies for grades K-8.
