Our interactive programs for students (Grades K – 12) bring the diverse and important history of early Colorado and at Bent’s Old Fort to life, and encourage your students to make personal connections between the past, present, and future.
For more information about field trip opportunities to Tesoro Cultural Center at The Fort, or about our Traveling Trunk Show, see our School Programs Page here >
Tesoro is also proud to offer three educational videos about American Indian life and culture, and the early Spanish settlers in Colorado. To view the films and learn more, see our Videos for Further Learning Page here >
Need lesson plans and ideas for classroom activities? Tesoro has produced a free classroom activity packet available for Teachers and Educators about the history, life, and culture of the Kiowa Indians. It’s called, The Kiowa People: In Their Own Words, and supports grades K-8. For details and to download the packet see our Curriculum page. We hope this companion curriculum comes in handy in your classroom!
